The Boards of Directors of ACI-NA and ACI-Europe met at the ACI-NA 15th Annual Conference & Exhibition, September 25, in Reno, Nevada. Among the topics discussed in the joint forum included ACI’s role at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and environmental and security issues with an impact on both sides of the Atlantic.
Through these productive conversations, one resounding consensus emerged: It is imperative in the face of emerging threats and challenges that decision-making is well-planned and coordinated among the United States, Europe, and airport industry colleagues around the world.

HMSHost Corporation has completed the acquisition of Cara Operations Air Terminal Restaurant Division (ATR), a leading provider of travel concessions in Canada.
Under the terms of a $62 million CDN agreement, HMSHost through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Host International of Canada, acquired the ATR contracts at nine airports: Calgary International Airport, Edmonton International Airport, Kamloops Airport, Montreal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, Ottawa International Airport, Saskatoon International Airport, Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport, Vancouver International Airport and Winnipeg International Airport. Many airport locations will continue to feature Cara brands including Swiss Chalet, Harvey's, Kelsey's, Montana's Cookhouse and Milestone's.
"We have successfully completed transitioning Cara operations," HMSHost President and Chief Executive Officer Elie Maalouf said. "The majority of ATR employees have been retained and we look forward to their future growth with us. We will continue to strive for exceptional customer service with minimal disruptions to the airport business and travelers."
